Do you think it's worth the money to travel with a 4 (almost 5 month old) to Disney? Our trip is coming up and we are starting to get nervous that it's not going to be worth it...Thanks!

Hi, Monica!  I think it's a very common concern to many parents making their first trip with their children.  You think it might not be worth it to go if they don't remember things, but you don't want to miss that "sweet spot", when everything is still magical and filled with wonder and fantasy.

My kids are Walt Disney World veterans, with my youngest making her first trip at four months old.  Obviously, she doesn't remember a second of it, but the photos I have are ones I will treasure my whole life.  First of all, everything the baby does is free, so the expense is only what you would pay to go as grown ups, but honestly, even though my youngest is now eight years old, I still look through photos from her first trip, where she was staring up at Mickey Mouse or being snuggled by Lilo and Stitch.  I love those baby Disney pictures - and the tiny expressions I captured during parades and shows.

You can utilize child swap if the grown ups want to still ride the things with height restrictions, but there are plenty of things you can take the baby on.  I used to take my girls to things like the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and other similar attractions.  Because they were too young to know to be afraid, they never were, and fortunately for me, they didn't develop fear of those attractions.

I think the memories will remain magical forever - the walks around World Showcase while baby naps in !he stroller, the baby bubbles blown at Minnie, the priceless photos of each magical moment.  I say go, and let it be the first of many you get to share with your new baby!
