Welcome back, Lauren. I'm happy to answer your question today!
So, I have to be upfront and admit something to you: I
love Disney's Art of Animation Resort. So I'm a little biased because I'm going to immediately recommend that resort. Any resort that has rooms, larger-than-life statues, and a pool themed to Disney's animated classic
The Little Mermaid is going to be very, very high on my list. But
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort recently debuted some
Little Mermaid-themed rooms that I haven't experienced yet, so will that tip the scales if I stay there instead? It's possible. And while I love
The Big Blue Pool at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, the
Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney's Carribean Beach Resort is pretty amazing, too! What's a secret merman to do?
Here's the thing: the
Disney Skyliner at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort has direct routes to both
Disney's Hollywood Studios and
EPCOT, and no matter how you slice it, that resort is the most likely to have the quickest travel time to these parks. But, any time I've stayed at Disney's Art of Animation Resort and transferred at Caribbean Beach on the Disney Skyliner, the transfer didn't add too much time. While park opening and park closing are going to make your wait time longer, the lines tend to move pretty quickly. I would compare the theming, amenities, and dining options and pick the one that is more aligned with my values and what's important for my travel party.
While a refurbishment has not been announced, in previous years, the Disney Skyliner has usually undergone refurbishment in mid to late January. Since it looks like you may be staying at the resort around this time, I wanted to point it out to you. Is it possible it won't happen during this timeframe in 2025? Of course. We won't know until it's announced, but just keep in mind that Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is closer to both Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT and if it turns out the Disney Skyliner is down when you're there, the bus rides will be a bit shorter to those two parks from
that resort than Disney's Art of Animation Resort.
Lauren, no matter what you decide, you're in for a wonderful vacation at a truly immersive resort. If you have any other questions,
please don't hesitate to reach out.
