Do you think getting a rental car is best when staying at aulani? What are the recommended must see sites on a seven day trip? Should we fly to see something at another island?

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with another question about your upcoming dream vacation to Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, in Ko Olina, Hawaii. I dream of spending seven magical days in the island breeze, taking in the beauty of Hawaii with the special magic of Disney. There are so many options for you as you plan your vacation, with Aulani Resort being an incredible oasis of fun in the sun, activities, and relaxation. You can spend seven days enjoying all that the resort offers and taking part in the many activities, or you can rent a car and get out to explore more of Oahu. I believe that the ideal vacation would be a combination of the two!

If you are considering renting a car, you have a few options. You can rent a car from the airport upon your arrival and have your own transportation for the duration of your stay, or you can rent a car for just a day or two from the Alamo car rental counter located right there in the resort’s conference center. There are plenty of things to see and do around Oahu, with tons of site seeing and iconic landmarks to visit like Diamond Head, you can visit the gorgeous Ko Olina lagoons, enjoy stunning beaches like those found on the North Shore, hike the trails in Kailua with beautiful bay and mountain views, or take in the beauty of nature preserves such as Hanauma Bay.  You can book specialty tours that will take you whale watching, swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, and on sunset and dinner cruises, or visit an adventure park where you can zipline. If you would like to learn more history of the island you can plan a day at the Hawaiian Plantation Village, tour the Dole Plantation, or visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial.

I hope that this information helps you to plan some magical adventures for your visit to Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa next May! Please stop back by planDisney any time we can assist you with your vacation planning.
