Hi! What are some things/events to do after the parks close but within the park? Such as light shows. And not at the boardwalk. Can I book these in advance? Thanks!

Hi Tasha! So glad you brought your question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Disney After Hours special ticketed events have gained some popularity the last few years. It’s neat to be able to have the Magic Kingdom Park open to only a small group of guests. I’m definitely a fan of the low wait times!

Right now, dates for the after-hours event are running through the beginning of March. It’s possible that more days and times will open-up. The Disney Parks Blog is where I go when I want the latest information about anything going on at the Walt Disney World Resort. You may want to check there as you continue planning for your trip.

A few other ideas to consider are Extra Magic Hours. It’s basically additional time for some magical fun at any of the four theme parks, before they open and after they close to the public. This of course is a perk that only Disney hotel guests can enjoy.  I always make sure to check the Park Hours Calendars to pin-point where and when those hours are happening and plan around them. It’s a perk my family and I always try to take advantage of when we visit.

If Disney After Hours dates and Extra Magic Hours don’t coincide with your vacation dates, Disney Springs offers up lots of amazing restaurants, activities like bowling, movies and live music. The shopping is great too! Most nights it will be open through midnight.

Tasha, I hope I’ve given you some ideas for night time fun at the Walt Disney World Resort. Come back to see us soon!
