Hey Lee,
Welcome to planDisney! You’ve come with some great questions about your future visit to Walt Disney World and I’m honored to be able to help you get answers. Let’s dive right in!
The very first thing I suggest to all guests before they start planning their Disney holidays is to check out the
Deals page. Here you’ll find all the current discounts that are available; you may be able to find great savings. After reviewing the deals, think about where you might want to stay. Disney has three hotel categories:
Value, Moderate and Deluxe. Take a look at these options and decide what’s best for your family. Your choice should really be driven by the kind of vacation you want to have. Will you spend a ton of time in the parks? If so, choose a value resort that has great transportation options. Will you spend a lot of time at Disney Springs? If so, stay at one of the Disney Springs area resorts. Will you want to enjoy the best pools on property and spend more time at your resort? Consider a Deluxe stay. That said, a few of my favorite resorts in each category are Art of Animation, Port Orleans French Quarter and Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Once you have the resort portion of your vacation package figured out, consider your
park tickets. Choose between the 7- and 14-Day Magic Tickets. How long to stay depends on your family’s needs and budget. The best deal for 2026 is currently the 14-Day ticket. 2027 ticket deals could appear later in the year, so keep your eyes peeled.
The order of your park days doesn’t really need to be set in stone - have a plan, but be willing to pivot as needed. Your special Magic Tickets will give you the ability to visit multiple parks per day, so you can always start each day in one park and end each day in another if you choose. With a 5- and 7-year-old it’s possible to park hop efficiently if you plan for it! For example, hopping between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios is easy even with a stroller thanks to the
Disney Skyliner. Another planning tidbit to consider is if you’re staying at a Deluxe hotel, you will definitely want to take advantage of the
Extended Evening Hours benefit for Deluxe Resort guests. Use the
Hours & Events Calendar as you get closer to your stay to see when your Deluxe Resort Extended Evening Hours are happening and plan your days and evenings around them. If you choose another resort category, your days can honestly be planned around the days of the week you’ll be staying. Magic Kingdom is sometimes a little less crowded on weekdays when Florida locals are less likely to visit, for example. Also, check the calendar for any specially ticketed events that might cause a park to close early and plan around that.
If all else fails,
Disney’s best experts are available to help with all your UK travel planning questions and to help you book the holiday of your dreams. I hope this information has been helpful, Lee. If you have any additional planning questions, please feel free to come on back to planDisney anytime. We’ll see ya real soon!
