Hi There, I have two boys 9 and 13 years old and we are planning to go to Aulani in June 2018. We would like to know how is the weather like and what is your recommendation to carve a perfect family vacation plan at Aulani? Thank you for your help.

Hi, Laura! I know you must be so excited to begin your journey to Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa this summer! Their weather is my idea of perfection in June, with temperatures usually in the 80s and a tropical breeze. This lends itself to gorgeous days enjoying the beauty of the resort and the island of Oahu.

The main page of Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa has lots of information about dining locations and activities for kids, adults, and the whole family. Specifics things I would like to recommend for you include dinner at Makahiki – The Bounty of the Islands, lots of time floating along the Waikolohe Stream, Mo‘olelo Fire Pit Storytelling, and Ka Wa’a - A Luau. Your younger son will be able to take part in activities at Aunty’s Beach House, while there are teen programs available for your older son. There are even fun classes for the whole family to enjoy, such as ukulele classes. If your sons do find some great activities to explore on their own, consider enjoying some time at Laniwai Spa.

When you fly in to begin your vacation, you may want to rent a car at the airport for day trips around the island. Highly recommended day trips include a full day of snorkeling Hanauma Bay (you can rent snorkels and masks at your resort for the week), hiking Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor tours and visiting the Dole Plantation.

Be sure to talk to one of Disney's PhotoPass photographers about a sunset photo session. I have seen several sessions done by my fellow panelists and they are all breathtaking! You will definitely want pictures such as these to remember this vacation with your family!

Thank you so much for stopping by with your question, Laura. We have lots of panelists that have visited the resort many times, so we are always here to give you any advice you need. In fact, I would like to thank Jill, Kari, Kaylene, and Mona Leigh for their insight!
