Hi Kimberly! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
I'm so excited to hEAR about your upcoming visit to
Walt Disney World Resort! December is such a beautiful time to stay, as you'll get to see the Resort decked out in all its holiday glory! Last year, I was fortunate enough to stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge during the holiday season and we as Guests were treated to a giant gingerbread giraffe display the day we arrived! You just never know what kind of magical surprises are going to pop up during your stay.
It sounds as though you may be spending some time visiting the four Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks during your vacation in Florida, even if you're not staying on property at one of the
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. When speaking of the main parking lot I think you may be referring to the Transportation and Ticket Center, which acts as a parking lot for Magic Kingdom as well as a transportation hub for both
Magic Kingdom and
EPCOT.
If you're planning to spend your day twirling on the teacups in the Mad Tea Party and enjoying the rush of Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom before heading out for dining and entertainment at
Disney's BoardWalk you can easily use
Disney's complimentary bus transportation to get from point A to point B. When exiting Magic Kingdom follow the signs for Disney buses, which will point you in the right direction to ride a bus to
Disney's Boardwalk Inn. Once you arrive you'll be able to enjoy delicious dining options at
Trattoria al Forno or Flying Fish, or catch some spontaneous performances as you stroll the area with an ice cream in hand from
BoardWalk Ice Cream.
If you're traveling straight from your off-site hotel to Disney's BoardWalk you have a few other options to get there! Guests who hold a dining reservation at the Resort are welcome to park in the Resort's parking lot. You may also think about parking in the complimentary Disney Springs lots or garages and then hopping on a Disney Bus to arrive at Disney's BoardWalk. Not only will you get to visit the BoardWalk but this way you can also spend some time exploring the shopping, dining, and entertainment district of
Disney Springs!
Have a magical stay!
