Don,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
No, when you stay at a Disney resort hotel you do not have to purchase a
theme park ticket for each day in the hotel. You can select the number of park days that you want to enjoy when booking that vacation package. My family always takes a no-park pool day in the middle of our vacation. We find it essential to getting that relaxation that is required in an "R&R" (rest & relaxation) vacation! That of course means we do not need a park ticket for each day, and neither will you.
When you purchase theme park tickets at Walt Disney World you pick a starting date for those tickets. From the point of that first park day, you have a certain number of days in which to use your park tickets. It varies, based on the number of park days you purchased. The greater the number of days you purchased, the longer the time frame for use. As an example, with a 4-day park ticket you need to use them within 8 days of that first park day. If you purchase a 10-day ticket, the range of time expands out to about 2 weeks. So, you could have a 6-night hotel stay, with four park days on your tickets. As shown in this first example you would easily be able to use those park entries on any of the days of your visit.
BONUS TIPWhen you purchase your tickets, make sure you select your theme park reservations using the
Disney Park Pass system right away. You can change those selections later, assuming your preferred parks have
availability, but this way you lock in parks for the days you wish to visit.

Have a Magical Vacation!
