Yes, housekeeping does come into your room each day to clean, empty trash, replace towels, etc. Your room is equipped with a small safe that the housekeeping staff does not have access to.

I am in a WDW hotel room right now. The room safe is key lock. When you leave the room, you can take the key with you. The safe is about the size of large hardcover book. This would be an appropriate place to leave money, jewelery, passports, small electronics, etc.
