Thanks to Nancy and Marcy for answering my countless questions. One more about Pelican Plunge. We have to swim back to shore to line up again? How far is the swim? How deep is the water? Non-swimmer. LOL Thanks!

Hello again, Diana! I hope that you are finding the answers helpful that Nancy and I are providing! We are always happy to help, so please feel free to stop back with more questions anytime. Planning is half the fun, isn't it?

Pelican Plunge is located on a floating platform just a short swim's out from the beach, about 20 yards or so from shore. While the water depth varies based on tides, you should plan to swim, not wade out to the platform. The water depth can be over six feet at some points. Life jackets are available for all guests should they choose to wear them. If you're not a strong swimmer, it would be a good idea to grab a life jacket to help with that swim out and back. Children under 48 inches are required to wear the life jacket.

Once you're on the platform, you can splash around under the bucket that dumps water or you can get in line for the slides. There are two slides - a fast one and a faster one! The first one is open on top, and reminds me a bit of the Mickey slide on the ship, though a bit faster. The second one is a closed tube, so you'll find yourself in the dark for part of your slide ride! Both are a blast.

As you come splashing out of the slide, you'll need to swim back towards the shore before being able to cross over into the area reserved for guests who are swimming out to the platform. There are ropes and bouys creating swimming lanes to separate the areas where guests swim in or out. You'll get some exercise, that's for sure!

Thanks for your questions, Diana. I hope to see you back with more as you continue to plan!
