Hi again, Raquel!
It's wonderful to hear back from you! I'm so happy that my resort hotel recommendations were helpful. You won't regret choosing Port Orleans Riverside - it's a beautiful resort with a great swimming complex and dining options. It truly feels like a deluxe resort but at moderate prices!
The decision whether or not to add a
Disney Dining Plan is really a question of personal choice and dining habits and preferences. Since this will be your first family vacation and first trip to Walt Disney World, you may want to consider adding a Dining Plan just to try it out to see how it works for you. I would go with either the Quick-Service Dining Plan or the "regular" Dining Plan. There are a few caveats, however. First, to maximize the value of the Dining Plan, be sure not to skip even one meal. Second, it's important to know that many of the popular dining spots book up at 180 days in advance; you are planning to visit in August, which is just 4 months from now and a very busy time of year at Walt Disney World. With or without the Dining Plan, you may have difficulty securing reservations at certain restaurants such as Cinderella's Royal Table, Be Our Guest, Le Cellier and other sought-after dining locations. I recommend finalizing your travel dates and then booking your resort and making advanced dining reservations as soon as possible. You can
make advance dining reservations online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE. Just follow the highlighted link to view all the restaurants and their menus.
I hope this helps, Raquel! Please don't hesitate to visit me again with any other questions. I'd be happy to assist you with your park itinerary and your dining choices. My family has eaten at most of the restaurants (quick-service and table-service) at Walt Disney World!
