Hello- thanks for all your help! We are planning on going to Epcot on Sat Oct 20. Will the crowds be heavy for the food and wine festival or will we be ok to still go and walk around. Going with 5 yr old!

    Craig,

Typically Epcot is busier on the weekends during the Food and Wine Festival. And yes, Epcot should be pretty busy that particular weekend day for that very reason.

But remember that the World Showcase at Epcot is over 1 mile around. It is a very large space, one that can absorb a lot of people. While it will be busy, it will not be at full capacity, and it certainly will not be like the Magic Kingdom on Christmas week.

If it were me, with a 5 year old (my kids are 4 and 6), I would plan on getting there early in the morning to get in all the Future World fun. Then make your way over to the World Showcase when it opens at 11 am. While you will see a lot of other people ready to go at that same time, it is still less crowded than at peak dinner times. This is a good time to get into some of the shorter lines.

Also, if you can time dining to mid-afternoon, you benefit from it being a non-standard meal time. Lines will still exist, but you might find it an easier road for you and your little one.

Final tip. Be prepared for a hard crowd to work through in the Mexico pavilion. Because of how they have grown that area, it has a particularly tight bottleneck for pedestrian traffic that can be a bit of a beast to navigate. I either drive through it without stopping my kids stroller just to get through it, or carry them if we are stroller free.

Write me back if you have any other questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
