Thanks for all of your help! When going to the parks will a backpack be able to be accomodated on most rides. if not what do you recommend? Will everyone be able to take their refillable mugs on the rides? What are must haves to take to the parks? TY!

    Hi Sue,

I have taken a medium sized backpack with me on literally every ride at Walt Disney World. On most rides you can just set it at your feet or on the seat next to you. I've also used fanny packs and cross-body purses in the parks. Really, whatever type of bag makes you the most comfortable is the one you should go with.

As for refillable mugs, you can bring them on the rides, but frankly I wouldn't even bring them to the park at all. The refillable mugs only work at the resorts, not at the theme parks. If you bring them to the park, it will just be an unnecessary thing to cart around all day. If you'd like to bring your own beverage container, a plastic or metal water bottle that you can clip to your belt/bag/lanyard may be more practical.

I tend to bring lots to the parks with me. Here are some of the basics that I typically carry:

    - sunscreen
    - hand sanitizer
    - sun glasses
    - ID/money/credit card/room key
    - water bottle
    - light jacket or sweater (I get chilly in air conditioning)
    - cell phone
    - camera, extra memory card, extra battery
    - umbrella or poncho
    - a few small zip-top bags
    - list of dining reservations
    - small first aid kit - tylenol, bandaids, etc.
