Hi, Thanks for your help. What nights are the street performers on the Boardwalk? For a solo trip you suggested BC or Contemporary because you would not have to walk outside to get to your room. What are your thoughts on WL (For feeling safe) ? Thanks

    Hi again Karen,

The street performers generally appear on the Boardwalk on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from about 6:30pm until about 10:00pm. There may be additional nights added during peak seasons. And you may find that street performers do not appear outside in bad weather. If this happens, they will often have abbreviated performances in the hotel lobby.

The Wilderness Lodge is my family's Disney Vacation Club home resort. It is simply gorgeous - by far my favorite resort themeing at WDW. I stay there often, and have stayed there on my own three times, most recently in January 2014. I feel completely comfortable there. However, some solo female travelers get a bit skittish because it's in such a woodsy area. To get from the Magic Kingdom boat at the WL to the main hotel lobby, you're walking along a relatively dark wooded path. It's not a long walk at all, and there is always tons of security anywhere you go at WDW, but someone who is nervous by nature might feel slightly uncomfortable for a few seconds. Contrast this with the Contemporary or BC where you're generally walking in areas with more open sightlines.

Really it depends on your personality. Like I said, I have stayed there on my own recently and loved it, but others may have more reservations.

I have to add that the Territory Lounge at the WL is one of my two favorite spots at WDW to get a solo drink. There's no "scene" there, which there sometimes is at the bar at the Contemporary. In my experience, the servers are almost always low-key women who are extremely kind. They have a great cheese fondue on the appetizer menu there that I've gotten as my dinner several times. Fun and delish!

Keep those questions coming. I'm happy to help.
