    Thanks so much for all of your help and ideas. I am thinking of upgrading to the DDP, but I don't want to be tied down to the reservation. I know it depends on the resturant, but how important are ADRs?

    Maura,

    With the Disney Dining Plans, even the deluxe, you are never tied down to Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR). They are independent of how you pay for your meals. Select your dining plan based on if it is a money saver for you.

    As to the importance of ADRs, you are right, it is dependent on the restaurant. It is also dependent on the time of year. Here are some good rules of thumb;

    • For certain restaurants you simply have to have an ADR to get in. Cinderella's Table, California Grill, Hoop-Dee-Doo Review, Aloha Dinner Show, and Crystal Palace are a few examples.
    • If you are going at a busy time of year, make as many ADRs as you can, but only for those dining reservations you are sure you will need/use.
    • Don't be a pig with making more reservations than you need, but know that you can always cancel most ADRs if you find you are just not up to a sit-down dinner.

    Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
