Thanks for your help. Decided on WL for solo trip. I know request are not a guarantee. I would feel better with a room close to front desk that looks out over the lobby on ground - 2nd floor, open balcony. Of the 3 category of rooms, which would I book?

    Hi again Karen,

I think the Wilderness Lodge is a great choice. I just love the homey atmosphere.

I'm going to point you over to the independent website touringplans.com. They have a Room Finder tool there that gives details about every room at every resort. The Wilderness Lodge info starts at http://touringplans.com/hotel_maps/disneys-wilderness-lodge

Click on the large white "C" shape in the center of the map. That's the main WL building, "Bldg 1". This will bring you to a second map with little boxes. The boxes are the rooms, by room number, showing exactly where each is located. If you click on a room, you'll see the exact view you'll get from the room. Be sure to play around with the "Floor" toggle at the top right of this map page. By doing this you'll see that the rooms with doors overlooking the lobby atrium are primarily on floors 4, 5, and 6. So it would not be possible to have a ground or 2nd floor room that overlooks the lobby. Scroll down below the photo to see room attributes such as sound level and type of bedding.

You should find where you want to stay and give your request in the form of a specific room range there are instructions on the room photo page. For example, you might say that you want "Bldg 1,Flr 4,NW-facing room.Exmple:4081,4082,4083,4084,4085,4086,4087,4088,4089." By being as detailed as possible, you're more likely to get exactly what you want.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
