Hi and thanks for this forum. My wife and I want to take our 2 year old daughter this May to Disney for her first trip. We have stayed at many places but this is the first time with our little girl. Where should we stay? Many thanks!

Hi Bryan! Nice to hear from another NC resident!

How exciting to be planning your daughter's first trip to Disney! You've picked a great month to visit -- my family goes to Disney almost every year at the beginning of May because the weather is so nice, the crowds are fairly low, and the beautiful Flower and Garden Festival is in full-swing at Epcot!

When my children were young, I found the monorail resorts to be our best hotel choice.  With a young child, you'll probably find that you're spending a lot of your time at the Magic Kingdom, and the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian are just a quick monorail ride away.  I loved the convenience of rolling a stroller onto the monorail instead of having to collapse it to board a resort bus, especially when the stroller contained a sleeping two-year-old whom I didn't want to wake!  Staying on the monorail route makes it so easy to run back to your resort room when your child needs a quick nap or change of clothes or when you want to take a break from the parks and have a mid-day swim in the pool. In addition to the convenience of the monorail, you and your wife will enjoy the luxury of those three resorts!

After the monorail resorts, I'd recommend the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  When my children were that age, they were fascinated by animals, and they loved standing on the balcony and pointing out the different animals on the savanna. (In fact, they still enjoy doing that now!)

I hope your daughter's first trip will be magical for all of you!
