Hi thanks for your answers so far! Thinking of going to Hoop Dee Doo show - just wondering whether it will appeal to us, as visitors from the UK - we don't have things like that over here! Thanks x

    Hi Rachel,

As a fellow Brit I thought I'd answer your question for you :-)

I booked the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review for my family a few years ago with slight trepidation, although I'd read lots of good reviews I honestly didn't know how my family would react to the show as we're a little reserved. Well I needn't have worried as they all had a ball and declared it the best activity of the trip and wanted me to book it again for our next trip!

The food includes ribs, chicken and mash which is pretty basic but tasty, dessert is strawberry shortcake which I assumed would be like ours but was actually cake with strawberries and cream plus there is unlimited free alcohol! The main reason you go though is for the show which, as you say, is nothing like we have here in England. It's very noisy with some audience participation and even though we didn't know some of the songs played we had a great time, plus my children laughed so hard at the corny jokes, they were 9 and 11 at the time so the perfect age for that type of humour. I think it could be a marmite type of show though, you either love it or hate it, but I would definitely recommend you go and see for yourself.

If you'd like to get a rough idea of what the show is like then there are lots of videos on YouTube, only watch snippets so you don't spoil it though!

I hope that helps and if you'd ever like an English opinion again then you can always ask me a question directly via my profile page.
