Thanks So much for answering ALL of my questions!! I know its been a lot!! I am a BIG planner!! What can we expect when we board the Disney Magic on the first day? I have read to pack a carry on bag with a swim suit, camera, anything else?? Thanks SO SO MU

    Hi Ashley!

You are so welcome!  It is my pleasure spreading pixie dust on your Disney Cruise vacation!  Once you board the ship, you will want to enjoy your first delicious lunch at either Parrot Cay or Topsiders.  Both will offer a buffet-style lunch.  Around 1:30 you can expect to have access to your stateroom so if you have time after lunch, you may want to hit the pool deck for some splashtacular fun!  The pools are usually less crowded embarkation day, and if your kids are anything like mine, they will be ready to take the plunge.

The kids clubs will be open for an Open House and registration as well as the Vista Spa.  A Walking Ship Tour is usually offered by the cruise staff around 2:00.  At 4:00, a mandatory Boat Drill will take place, and all services will be suspended for about 30 minutes while the entire crew and Guests participate.  After the drill, Goofy's Pool Stage will be rockin' with a high-energy sail away show, Adventures Away.  Then it will be time to wave bon voyage to Port Canaveral as you sail away into the sunset on your cruise adventure!  Your Personal Navigator, your daily cruise newsletter, will have all the details you need so make sure to have it handy at all times!

In your carry-on, you will want to pack your swimsuits, goggles, camera, cruise documents, and any medications you might take.  Your luggage will be placed outside of your stateroom door sometime in the afternoon of embarkation so if you think you will need something before it is delivered just throw it in your carry-on.  My kids also bring along a small bag with some activities to keep them occupied at the terminal before we board the ship.

It was great to hear from you again, Ashley!  I'm so glad to have helped you with your planning!
