Thank you, thank you for all the info. I've learned SO much for our trip to DW starting in 6 days! Besides tipping housekeeping and at restaurants, is it appropriate to tip cast members for good service? How about a short note of appreciation?

In general you will not find Disney World to be a place where the employees (cast members) are waiting with an outstretched hand for a tip. I find that tips really do seem to be appreciated there.

When we are at WDW, we tip at restaurants, housekeeping, bell services, parking valets, and room service. In other words, we tip at the places you would tip at any hotel or resort. Notes of appreciation are always welcome and are perhaps exceptionally important at a place like WDW that does a large proportion of its promoting from within.

If you would like to send a note praising a WDW cast member, you can direct it to:

    Walt Disney World Guest Communications
    P.O. Box 10040
    Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

When writing about an cast member, try to be as specific as you can. For example, say Kathy from Clearwater, FL gave me excellent service on February 19, 2008 at Tusker House during breakfast at about 8:30 a.m. This gives the managers a way to figure out exactly which cast member you are referring to.
