Bright Suns, Tamara!
I was so excited to see your transmission! Disneyland Park is the best spot in the galaxy for a young Padawan to celebrate a birthday. It will be an epic day!
In my experience, many characters and Batuu residents will indeed wish your son "Happy Birthday" or "Happy Sun Cycle" as they say on their planet! My very favorite experience on the planet for a birthday or celebration is
creating your own unique lightsaber with the help of the Gatherers at Savi's Workshop. If your son is an aspiring Jedi then this special experience really is a must. You won't feel the Force like this anywhere else!
Reservations are required, but the good news is that I still see some openings on the day of your visit.
Black Spire Outpost is a spectacular place to take photos, especially if you're wielding a new lightsaber! Watch for Disney PhotoPass Photographers in the area for some really great shots. I particularly love the photos they take with lightsabers at night. The Force is strong with those amazing photographers!
I just checked the
entertainment schedule and I am super excited to see
Fire of the Rising Moons on the calendar for the day you're visiting. You might have seen Disneyland Park fireworks before, but not like this! Set to incredible John Williams music, these fireworks are the ultimate nighttime spectacular for a Force-sensitive fan.
To really make the most of your day I recommend visiting Batuu first thing in the morning. Most of the visitors will head straight for
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance but I would consider purchasing
Individual Lightning Lane (soon to be known as Lightning Lane Single Pass) access for your group to ride that attraction later. With your passage on that attraction secured, you're free to board
Millenium Falcon: Smuggler's Run right away! You may even be able to ride more than once before the line gets long if you arrive early.
Of course, Black Spire Outpost isn't the only place for a Star Wars fan at the resort!
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue in Tomorrowland will always be one of my favorite attractions, I especially love the droids you get to see while waiting to board. There's also the
Star Wars Trading Post in the Downtown Disney District where you can shop for your birthday guy! My son found a very cool sweatshirt here on our last trip with the Aurebesh alphabet on it and loved using it to translate messages in the parks.
Thank you again for letting me be part of your planning journey, Tamara!
You know where to find me if you need anything else. May the Force be with you and your special Padawan!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
