Thank you for answering my initial question. Do you know if there is any way to convert a 5 day ticket to 4 and buy the Halloween party ticket separately? Or use the 5th day as some sort of credit to pay an additional cost for the party?

    Shaun,

Thanks for sending me another question!

There is no simple way to convert your ticket and apply credit over directly to a special event ticket. Even if the special event tickets, like those for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, were already available for purchase, it is not the way the ticket systems would work. Also, Disney typically cannot refund part of a ticket purchase. They can change your current tickets from 5 days to 4, but the remaining day would have to be applied to a specific date in the future.

Step 1: What I recommend to you is you contact Disney to see how they can help. Start by asking them if they can change the number of park days on your tickets, and what can be done with the value of the 5th day that you are removing. You can contact Disney directly to do this, and my advice is to call in at (407) 934-7639 to ask for a reduction in your days. They will need to know when your new start date is in case that is changing. At this time you could still ask them if they are able to provide a credit back to you on the extra ticket day charge, or you can provide them with a date of when to apply that 5th day ticket.

Step 2: When ticket sales for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party open up, make sure you go in right away to order. Remember that based on your travel dates, many, if not all the parties that week will eventually sell out, so order as soon as you can. To know when the tickets will go on sale, I recommend that you regularly check the Disney Parks Blog, or consider writing me back in the mid-April time frame, in case they have announced the sale date.

I know that this is likely not what you had hoped to hear, but still try with Disney to see how they can accommodate your change request.

IMPORTANT NOTE: While a ticket to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will allow you to enter the Magic Kingdom at 4 pm, you would either need to use one of your theme park admissions to get into that, or another park, earlier in the day. I have several friends on special event days who will choose to sleep in, enjoy some pool time at the resort, and relax before heading to the park at 4. It can really set them up well to stay into the evening hours to fully enjoy the party!

    BOTTOM LINE
If it were me, I would call in the hopes that they could refund the 5th day. If they cannot, then I would just keep it as a 5-day ticket and consider whether the party was worth the added expense.

Best of luck and have a spooky Halloween Vacation!
