What can you tell me about the Star Wars Trading Post at Disney Springs. We were unable to get into the Savi's to build a lightsaber. Is this an alternative to Savi's? Any pointers to someone who hasnt been to Disney in 10 years?

Hi there, Mary! Greetings from everyone here at planDisney! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out and allowing us to help you plan your visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

There are so many unique offerings available at Walt Disney World Resort for Star Wars fans! Whether you prefer to experience the classic Star Tours - The Adventures Continue or explore the all-new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there are so many new things for you to explore!

Star Wars Trading Post at Disney Springs is the perfect example of this! If you would like to shop for some one-of-a-kind Star Wars merchandise, this is the location for you! Here, you will be able to for merchandise “imported” from the planet of Batuu. This includes various items that are embalmed with both the First Order and the Resistance logos such as keychains, drink wear, apparel, and so much more. Also, while you cannot build your own custom lightsaber, you can construct what is known as a Legacy Lightsaber! These unique sabers are modeled after famed Force users such as Luke Skywalker or Ahsoka Tano.

I would also highly recommend keeping an eye on the availability at Savi’s Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers! While there is no guarantee, other Guests may cancel their reservations and you may notice new availability pop up prior to your visit.

As someone that has not visited Walt Disney World Resort in a long period of time, I would also recommend downloading the My Disney Experience app before your vacation! This planning tool will become your best friend when it comes to managing reservations and quickly modifying your plans on the go!

I hope this information assists you as you continue to plan for your visit next month! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as well!
