Hi there, Joann.
I know how it feels to be overwhelmed with trip planning. My little boy used to be about everything Toy Story but decided on our last trip that he loved nothing more than the ways of the Jedi. Before our last trip, I put together a Star Wars itinerary for our Young Padawan that I am more than happy to share with you.
You may have heard that the flagship Star Wars ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios,
Rise of the Resistance requires a boarding pass since no stand-by line is available. To get this boarding pass you will want to log onto your
My Disney Experience Mobile App right at (or a little before) 7:00 am on the day of your visit and click "Join a Boarding Group." If your fingers are not quick enough, do not worry! You can try again at 1:00 pm.
Joann, when you arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios head to
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge where you will be transported to the planet of Batuu for an out-of-this-world experience. While you wait on your Boarding Pass time on Rise of the Resistance, don't miss an opportunity to fly the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy on
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
If you are looking for a galactic souvenir, you will want to make a reservation to build either a droid or a lightsaber. You can make a reservation online for both of these experiences up to 60 days in advance. Simply log onto your My Disney Experience Account and click on either
Savi's Workshop or
Droid Depot.
While my favorite food in Batuu, located at
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, does not require a reservation, you may want to make a reservation for
Oga's Cantina. While Oga's does not serve food, the cocktails and kid-friendly mocktails served by some shady characters is an experience you will not soon forget.
Just outside of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, you can find
Star Tours. This simulation ride offers a new experience each ride, and often has a shorter line, making it a great option for when you have a little time to fill.
Joann, as you can see there is so much to see and do for your resident Star Wars fan, but one of my favorite things is to simply walk around and take in the sights and sounds of an unfamiliar planet. Keep your eyes peeled and you may just spot some friendly Rebel Forces or some malicious Storm Troopers.
While some experiences have not yet re-opened, the majority of Star Wars activities are available, including everything listed above.
I hope that this helped you plan your adventure to a galaxy far, far away. Please come back here to planDisney if we can help you plan any aspect of your vacation.
May the force be with you.
Sarah B.
