Can you tell me Disney's rules regarding bringing an adult size Coast Guard approved life vest from home for use on waterslides at the water parks and hotel pools? I can not float on my own - I know I can rent a vest but I feel safer using my own.

    Robert,

You are fine to use a life vest at any of the swimming pools. However, they are not permitted on water slides. For an adult, though, this may not be too much of a problem. The water at the bottom of the slides, both at the resort pools and at the water parks, is not very deep. My daughters can touch the ground, and I would say it only comes to my waist or slightly above on most slides - I am 5'7". So while you can't wear a life vest, you should be able to put your feet down and stand.

Also, you can look at the park pages to see that on most of the slides you will either come down into very shallow water (a couple of inches deep), or you will be on a floating raft. I can't recall any slides at the water parks where I was dumped underwater. And before you enter the slides, you can always see the end of the ride first, to decide if you are comfortable with the way you will be exiting the water.

    Hope that helps!
