Will teenagers like AOA rooms or is it too "kid-oriented" for them for entire week? Also are the pools mainly wading pools/play areas? How deep are the 3 pools at AOA? Any details would be great! Have 2 teens, 1 preschooler.

    Hi Vicki,

I have teens myself, and I have stayed at the Art of Animation resort by myself. Then entire time I was there I found myself thinking that my kids would have LOVED it when they were six years old. Notice that I didn't say that they would love it now. In my opinion, the Art of Animation is fine for anyone, but really hits the sweet spot for elementary age kids and younger.

The pools at AoA are around four feet deep in most places. There is an absolutely wonderful kiddie water play area, your preschooler would be in heaven. But there are no slides or diving boards that would appeal to older children.

On the plus side for AoA, the food court is one of the best on property. They have some really terrific and unique dishes there that would really satisfy my teens. Also, the AoA rooms have two bathrooms. With my family this is a HUGE bonus. My kids could get past a lot of Nemo themeing in order to have an extra bathroom.

You can see lots of details about the food situation at the Art of Animation resort by visiting the independent website DisneyFoodBlog.com. Search there for an article called "Food Photo Tour: Art of Animation Resort Landscape of Flavors." You can see photos of the room and pool on the independent website blog.touringplans.com. Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
