My teen daughter and I are heading to WDW for a girls trip in early December. Although we’ve been there many times it has always been during our summer break-we are debating between the very, merry party and after hours-any suggestions to help us decide?

    Hi Andrea,

I’m SO excited to hear that you and daughter will get to enjoy some one-on-one time at the most magical place on earth! I just returned from a trip with my teenage daughter last week and it was so special to have that alone time with her at our happy place! You two are going to have a BLAST!

While I’m sure that you’d love the Disney After Hours event (I mean, who wouldn't love to have super short wait times for attractions with complimentary ice cream treats!), Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is my absolute favorite special event of the entire year! Since you normally visit during the summertime, this would be a completely new experience for you, and I’m just sure you’ll LOVE it! You’ll still find short wait times for your favorite attractions, but there will also be special shows, unique character greeting opportunities, complimentary treats, snow on Main Street U.S.A., a spectacular holiday-themed fireworks show, and my very favorite part of the evening, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade! It’s an evening that’s sure to put you in the holiday spirit and fill your heart with Christmas joy!

During my trip with my daughter, another highlight was getting to have some special meals together. I highly recommend the All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Milk Shakes and Plaza Loaded Fries from The Plaza Restaurant for a delicious afternoon treat! Mmm…. Whatever you decide to do, though, I know that you two will make memories you’ll both cherish forever!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Andrea, and have a truly magical vacation with your daughter!
