Dan,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Yes, treats at Walt Disney World, like all that pineapple goodness from
Aloha Isle, are taxed. While taxes on different purchases around the resorts and parks can vary, I generally budget in a rate of 6.5%.
BONUS TIP #1When planning out my dining and snack budget, I always calculate in a 6.5% tax on my meals. However, there are a select few dining experiences, like the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, where taxes are included in the overall per person charge. Again, these are few and far between, and you should always assume that neither taxes nor gratuities are covered. But when they are, it should be pretty clearly stated, and you can then budget accordingly.
BONUS TIP #2Everyone dreams of that Dole frozen treat in the Magic Kingdom. But did you know that
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has the
Pineapple Lanai stand, where you can get several variations of this popular Dole treat, including adult beverage versions?
