We have been talking about taking 5 yr old daughter for first visit since we haven’t been in a long time, we are not sure what she would be able to ride. Are the rides okay for 5 year old? Would it be better to wait until she is older?

    Hiya Kate,

Welcome back to planDisney. How exciting to be considering a Walt Disney World Resort vacation with your little Princess! As a parent that has been taking her princes since they were just a few months old, I think you are never too young or too old to enjoy the magic of Disney World.

You will be happy to hear that your daughter will be able to enjoy most, if not all of the attractions at the theme parks. There are a handful of attractions that do have height requirements but if she is over 48 inches tall, she would be able to ride every attraction offered between the four theme parks. Most attractions are slow moving vehicles or boats that move throughout various themed areas with lively audio animatronics, scenery and music. While there are a few attractions that have dark rooms or an occasional loud noise, the attractions are family friendly and you will be able to ride the attraction sitting beside your daughter. Most children enjoy the attractions without any issues.

If your daughter reaches the height requirement and enjoys some speeds and fast turns, you all can tackle the thrill rides that are offered. One of our favorites is the newest attraction at EPCOT, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. It is a fast paced race through space to help save the universe. It is an "out of this world" adventure! If you are unsure how your daughter would react on some of the attractions, you may want to turn to the internet. You will find a number of videos from other Guests' visits and be able to see how the ride looks before your arrival. On top of all of the rides she can ride, there is so much more! You all will be able to enjoy stage shows, parades, character interactions, fireworks and more.

It will be a trip full of memory making moments for sure! I hope this helps with your decision. If I can answer any additional planning questions, please stop back and see me.

Hope to see ya real soon,
    Margaret
