HI Kathy!
What a wonderful day to celebrate your son's birthday! We had the
opportunity to celebrate my son's birthday at the parks recently as
well - and its a ton of fun!
First of all, when you check in to your resort or arrive at a theme
park, be sure to ask for a Birthday Button at either the concierge desk
or at guest relations. Many Cast Members - and even other guests - will
go out of their way to wish your son a Happy Birthday! One trip, my
daughter was treated to an extra large waffle cone with chocolate
Mickey ears when a Cast Member happened to notice her button. These
extra sprinklings of pixie dust really make a birthday trip special!
Also, if your son is into pirates (as mine is!) you may want to check out either the
Pirate's League where he can be transformed into a pirate - costume, scars, eye patch and all or the
Pirate and Pal's Fireworks Voyage where you can set sail on an adventure and catch a unique view of the Wishes Fireworks.
Another idea at Epcot, is to pick up a Passport in one of the World
Showcase stores. You can then take a tour of each country around World
Showcase and have a Cast Member write Happy Birthday to your son in
their native language. My kids especially enjoy the Moroccan pavillon,
and watching the Cast Members here write in their languages! This is a
really unique and wonderful keepsake that will help keep the memory of
your celebration alive for quite a while!
Happy Birthday to your son! I hope you both enjoy your special trip!
