I am taking my 2 year old son to WDW in July. We is the best character dining restaurant for his age? Also, do you think Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater would be too scary for him?

Hi, Heather!  The best character dining experience is going to depend on your two year old.  I think one of my favorites for younger kids is the character meal at Hollywood and Vine, where you'll see some characters from Playhouse Disney.  Because my girls were Playhouse Disney fans from a young age, it was neat for them to see a character they knew and were familiar with.

We also love Chef Mickey's, which is a fun place to eat, and a great place to meet the classic characters, like Mickey Mouse and friends.  My oldest daughter, however, had such a fear of Mickey Mouse, that we weren't able to eat there with her.  She would be terrified, and spend the whole meal on the look out for him, and never ate a bite.  For her, we went to Crystal Palace, because for some reason, a large bear the size of her father (Pooh) was much less ferocious than The Mouse!  But if your little guy doesn't have any fears like this, you might want to choose Chef Mickey's for the photo opportunity with some of everyone's favorite characters.

Another great meal is Donald's Safari Breakfast at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  If your young prince is an early riser, the earlier reservations are great here, because you can usually go right from breakfast to see some of the animals, which are more active in the morning.

Have a wonderful time, whichever restaurant you choose!
