We are taking our 5 year old son to Disney for the 1st time in April. We would like to stay at a Disney Resort, but we are completely overwhelmed by the choices. Can someone suggest the best resort to stay at, given that we have a 5-year old boy?

Hey Marilyn!  How exciting for your son, and he is at such a great age for WDW! All of the WDW resorts are wonderful but have you looked at CBR?  This is a moderately priced resort that I believe your son might truly enjoy.  It has pirate themed rooms!  From the beds that are boats to the bathroom curtain that is complete with a pirate skull, these rooms are great for little guys!  And the pool is fantastic as well.  You can view the rooms by going to the website at www.disneyworld.com.
And as far as other types of resorts, any deluxe resort on the monorail I would recommend with a 5 year old, and with a son my first choice would be the POLY and then FW.  Although FW is not actually on the monorail, it's just a short ferry ride to the MK!  In the value resorts, I would look at either All Star Sports or Movies, both of these are favorites of my friends with boys!
I hope this helps to get you started and if you have any further questions, please come back and visit us here at the Mom's Panel.
