We are taking our 3 and 7 year old in January 2015 and trying to decide on all star sports, Caribbean beach resort or animal kingdom? We have never been so I don't know how much time we will even spend in the room/ pools/amenities? suggestions?

Hi Erin!  Congratulations on planning your very first Walt Disney World vacation.  I know you are going to have so much fun making unforgettable memories with your family. I still remember my first visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth when I was just 7 years-old. The Daisy Duck hat I bought as a souvenir is still in my possession. I will never forget that trip and I know you won't as well.

My children are 3, 4, and 8 years-old and they love every aspect of Walt Disney World especially the fun Disney Resort hotels. My family has enjoyed all three Resorts but this being your first trip I would recommend either Disney's All Star Sports Resort, or Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Both Resorts are high on theming but easy on the budget which will allow you to spend the extra savings on other fantastic activities throughout Walt Disney World.  Erin, to help you choose please consider what is important to your family at a Resort hotel.  Disney's All Star Sports Resort will only have a food court for meal purchases, as Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort would have both a food court and table service restaurant. The pools are fantastic and plentiful at both Resorts, but the main pool at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort will have a waterslide and fun pirate themed splash pad area that I know your 3 year-old would fall in love with.

Take time to visit the web pages for both Resorts and choose the one that appeals to you the most. I know my family does not spend much time in the Resort room itself. We love to come back for an afternoon swim and nap, but can't wait to get back to the adventures waiting for us at the theme parks and Downtown Disney. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
