Taking our 5 year old for her first Disney trip. We have 7:10 reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table and the happily ever after fireworks are at 8 that evening. Is there anyway we will see the fireworks well?

    Hiya Brian,

It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I welcome you to planDisney! I’m so excited for your little princess to experience the magic of Walt Disney World Resort. I still remember my daughter’s first visit, and even though I know she won’t remember every moment, I know I will. A quick tip: I recommend getting Memory Maker for this memorable trip (and a complimentary Celebration Button) so you can download all the photos afterward. I made a little album with all the images for my little one to look back at when she was older.

First, Brian, congrats on getting a reservation for Cinderella’s Royal Table. Its location in Cinderella Castle makes it an iconic destination for royal treatment and one of the most popular reservations. To fully enjoy your dining experience, I find that you want to set aside at least 60-90 minutes from start to finish. So, with your reservation being for 7:10 pm, it will likely be challenging for you to enjoy both your dinner and Happily Ever After fireworks at 8 pm (schedules can sometimes change for fireworks, so be sure to check back to see if anything changes before your trip). From inside Cinderella’s Royal Table, you may catch glimpses of the fireworks, but you won’t be able to see all of the show.

Don’t worry yet, though, Brian. We can still have some options that can make some magic. First, continue to check back to see if there is an earlier reservation time. Guests change their plans all the time, so there is always a chance that a reservation will open up in the days (and even the morning of) leading up to your trip. Believe it or not, I’ve had quite a bit of success doing this, so don’t give up hope. I’m not sure what your entire trip itinerary is, Brian, but if you have another Magic Kingdom date set aside, I cannot recommend a Fireworks dessert party enough. As you can imagine, the fireworks are one of the most popular experiences at Magic Kingdom, so crowds tend to be the highest during the show. This can be overwhelming for little Mouseketeers and make it difficult for them to see the show without super obstructed views. I love booking fireworks dessert parties for this reason. With your reservation, you get a dedicated space (or seats if you do Seats and Sweets) to watch the less crowded show with yummy treats to enjoy. While it is an added price, I find it worth it with small children. They have a more enjoyable experience, and I get less stressed out.

I hope this was helpful, Brian. Please come back and see us if you need anything else!

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
