    We are taking our 3 yo to WDW Nov 29/09 to Dec 6/09. Is Mickey's Very merry Christmas worth the extra cost?

    Hi Kristin,

    What a  great time to visit Disney World. The holiday decorations are amazing and there are so many fantastic special events that occur during that time of the year. We went once and immediately fell in love with Disney during the Christmas holidays.

    Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is one of our favorite holiday events. This special ticket event occurs on select nights at Magic Kingdom. The tickets provides entrance into Magic Kingdom at 4pm on the party day. The real party begins when the park closes (usually around 6-7pm) to the day time guests. The party has a limited number of tickets and therefore the crowds are often quite small. Most attractions are open during the party, and with smaller crowds, we can often ride our favorites over and over with little if any wait.

    There are also special shows offered only during the party and great character meet and greet opportunities all throughout the park. There is a special holiday parade, complete with Santa himself, that is offered on party nights only, as well as a holiday fireworks show. There are photographers on hand for a great family picture and plenty of hot chocolate and cookies. It even snows on Main Street.

    For us the low crowds and number of attractions we can enjoy makes it well worth the ticket price. On top of that we love the special parade, fireworks and shows that you can only see on these evenings. We return year and after year. It is a perfect way to start the holiday season!
