Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, William!
In order to come up with some recommendations for you, I turned to my own teens for suggestions on their favorite Walt Disney World dining locations. Many of their favorite places offer not only a great menu, but a little something extra in terms of atmosphere.
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, my teens enjoy the
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, where Guests dine in tables that look like cars while watching clips from kitschy movies. Another favorite is the
50's Prime Time Cafe, which offers a fun step back in time with comfort foods like fried chicken, pot roast, and meatloaf. Try the
sampler of "Mom's Favorite Recipes" for a taste of all three. On our last visit, my daughter was asked to clear the table and bring the dishes back to the kitchen!
At Epcot, your daughters will have the opportunity to sample unique cuisine from around the world in World Showcase. Either select a
Table-Service dining location you think they may enjoy, or build your own "Taste of Epcot" by stopping at
Quick-Service locations and choosing a selection of foods to sample. Two locations that are fun for kids are
Biergarten, which offers an Oktoberfest atmosphere (family-friendly, of course!) complete with an oompah band. Also try
Teppan Edo, where you can watch your chef prepare meals right at your table.
Outside the theme parks, I highly recommend
Sanaa, where you can view animals on the savanna right outside the dining room window. My kids also enjoy both the food (and milkshakes!) as well as the silly antics at
Whispering Canyon Cafe. And don't dismiss
character dining locations with your teens -- mine still list
Chef Mickey's and
The Crystal Palace as among their sentimental favorites. We are all kids at heart, right?
William, I hope that is enough to get you started with ideas for your trip. You might also like to check out some of these other
unique dining locations. Please visit the Moms Panel again with any other questions you may have. Have a wonderful trip!
