Hi, I am taking my two girls back to Disney again this year and they have no idea yet. They are 12 and 5, and I would like to find a creative way to surprise them with the trip. Does anyone have any ideas? Last year we just did a count down. Thanks

Hi, Heather!  What a great idea!  I always like to surprise my girls with their trips, and I've used a variety of ways to do it so that it's always a big deal!

I love doing a scavenger hunt with the kids.  I'll hide clues and small objects throughout the house that lead them to the ultimate prize!  I have done things like start with a box of three crayons - black, red, and yellow (Mickey colors!) - and give them a clue as to where to find the next clue.  It eventually leads them to the discovery that they are going on a trip.

I've had friends who put their kids in the car for a trip to Grandmom's house, only to find themselves at the airport, on a plane to Orlando!  I have written a Dr. Seuss type of rhyming book and dprinted it out fo my kids, and the happy ending is a trip to Walt Disney World!

Another thing I've done with my girls is a series of gifts.  I started out with a small box that contained a small sunscreen.  The next bigger box had a hat to keep the sun off of their faces.  The girls ended up with a collection of gifts that certainly led to them knowing they were going on vacation, but the last gift contained a large sized Mickey Mouse plush toy, so they knew they were going to Walt Disney World!

However you tell them, I hope the vacation is a wonderful, magical surprise!
