We are taking 1st trip with our 7 yr old to WDW next month. What is the rule of thumb for dining reservations? Should we make them ahead of time or not? Also, we love seafood. Any good recommendations? Thanks!

    Hi Shannon,

How exciting to be counting down to your first Disney World trip. It really is even more amazing then you can imagine!

I am so glad you asked about dining reservations. This is something I wish every guest would think about prior to their arrival at Disney World. I ALWAYS think it is a great idea to make your dining reservations prior to your vacation. Disney restaurants are extremely popular with not only visiting guests but also Florida locals, and the restaurants tend to fill to capacity almost daily, especially during peak travel times like the summer. You can book reservations up to 90 days in advance by calling 407-939-3463. There is always a chance that a table will be available if you stop on that day, but the chances are small and it is easier to have a reservation ready rather than be forced to move from restaraunt to restaraunt looking for an open time. Remember if your plans change, you are always able to cancel the reservation as late as that day, typically with no penalty.

Now if you are looking for seafood, one of our favorite locations is Coral Reef in Epcot's Future World. There is a great selection of fresh seafood choices plus guests dine alongside an amazing view of the aquarium in the Living Seas. Be sure to try the Chocolate Wave dessert-one of my absolute favorite desserts ever! Other locations we enjoy are Fulton's Crab House at Downtown Disney, Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian and Flying Fish Cafe at the Boardwalk Resort. All of these locations are very popular and I highly recommend calling for reservations in advance.

    Enjoy and Bon Appetit!
