We are taking a trip to DW to celebrate my son's 4th birthday the last week of April 2014. After some reading on crowd levels, I'm really nervous we have selected a very busy time to attend. Can you tell me anything about crowd levels during this time?

    Hey there Alice!

It's always great to assist a fellow Georgian here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting you are visiting Walt DIsney World to celebrate your son's 4th birthday!

I absolutely understand your concern in wanting to avoid a really busy time of the year. Although crowd levels can be difficult to predict with 100% accuracy, there are certain times of the year that are historically more crowded. The most crowded times of the year are usually when the U.S. schools are not in session and around major Holidays. I personally believe the weekend prior to your arrival will be crowded due to Easter being on April 20, 2014. The crowd levels are traditionally high around Easter. With that being said, I personally visited the last week of April in 2012 and the last weekend of April in 2013 and did not find the parks to be overly crowded. In fact, I found the parks to be quite manageable for park touring.

I hope this information helps! Please don't hesitate to visit us again with any additional vacation planning questions. Sending pixie-dusted wishes that your son has a magical birthday trip and that you experience light crowds during your vacation, Alice!

    Happy Celebrating,
    Jodie
