I am taking my three kids (14, 11 & 9) to Disney for the first time for 4 days. We are staying at the Polynesian and have tickets to visit all parks w/ park hopper & water park options. Where should we go first and how do I plan to be able see ever

    Heidi,

So I have a few suggestions of rules you can follow to get the most out of your time, without feeling like you were having to hustle too much.

    • My golden rule for first visits is to start at the Magic Kingdom. It is the original park, it has the most to do, and it is good for setting the mood for the rest of the trip.
    • With kids in your age bracket, I would suggest that you spend about 1 1/2 days at the Magic Kingdom, 1 day at Hollywood Studios, 1/2 day at Animal Kingdom, and 1 day at Epcot, roughly.
    • What park you go to on what day, and in what order, has a lot to do with where you are staying (Disney resort or not), and what time of year. If you write me back, I can suggest an itinerary.
    • I did not include any water park time in my estimates. If you are set on doing that, and your ticket choice suggests that you are, you probably take a 1/2 day away from Epcot to compensate for a 1/2 day at a water park.
    • Of the two water parks, I expect your kids will likely prefer Blizzard Beach
Remember that you can't see everything. What you can do is see what you most want to see. So have each kid list out 2-3 attractions (rides, shows, or other experiences) per park that are on their "Must Do!" list. When you hit the parks, you can go after these first, and then see what else you have time for.

Write me back if you want help with an itinerary plan!

    Have a magical vacation!
