I will be taking my 3 20 something kids and my 2 year old granddaughter to DW in May & will be staying at Port Orleans-Riverside. We opted for the Quick Service Dining Plan but I want to have at least one nice family dinner. Any suggestions?

Hi, Cathy!  There are so many meal options at Walt Disney World, it's almost staggering!  If you want something especially well suited to your little granddaughter, you might try one of the character meals.  In the Magic Kingdom, the Crystal Palace features Winnie the Pooh and friends (keep in mind that characters are never guaranteed) at a wonderful buffet meal.  Something fun for everyone might be the contemporary spin on old fashioned comfort food at the 50s Prime Time Cafe in Disney's Hollywood Studios.  You could even opt to eat in another country with one of the many World Showcase restaurants at EPCOT.  The Rose and Crown is a favorite of my family's.

For something a little nicer and outside of a theme park, we love Sanaa at Kidani Village at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  You'll find the flavors of Africa and India (along with a few well loved favorites) at this table service restaurant, and from some of the tables, you'll have a view out to the animals on the savanna.

If you want to send me a follow up question to help narrow down something that would work for your family, let me know what kind of food you like and whether you'd prefer the theme park or one of the resort hotel dining locations.  So much food, so little time!

    Happy planning, Cathy!
