Hi, we will be taking a 4 night Bahamian cruise from Miami this November. We have an early flight home at 11:00am. It was either 11am or 6:50pm. Can we request to be in the first group to disembark? How long is the drive from the port to the airport?

    Ahoy, Tiffany!

While an 11am flight is cutting it close, you should be able to make it. Here are some tips for getting your family off the ship quickly:

Do NOT put out your luggage the last night of your cruise. Plan to carry your luggage off in the morning with you.
Head up to Cabanas for breakfast. If you go to your assigned restaurant, it will take much longer than running up to the buffet for a quick bite. Be sure to tell your dining room serving team that you will not be seeing them in the morning.
Be in the atrium before the ship clears customs. You will want to be first in line to disembark the ship. Typically the ship will clear customs by 8am.

Now, here is the tricky part. If you are planning to take a taxi for the approximately 20 minute ride to the airport, you will need to be prepared to wait in quite a long line. When we cruised out of Miami, we had a bit of a challenge to make a 12:20pm flight out of Fort Lauderdale. Had we known to do the above things, we might have had a little less stress.

Please come back and visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel again with any questions that you think of before you set sail in UNDER a month!

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
