    Hi, I am taking my niece to DW in November, but, would like to surprise her on her birthday a few mos. before our visit. I was wondering if it is possible to receive the magic bands earlier if requested.

    Hi Lisa,

    Once Guests have made a Walt Disney World reservation and it has been linked to your My Disney Experience, Guests will have a prompt to customize their MagicBands for their upcoming stay. While this can be done early, typically, MagicBands are not shipped until about 30 days prior to your visit, allowing Guests plenty of time to update and change their minds on colors of bands and our the names they would like printed on the inside. Guests wishing to have the MagicBands shipped to them have up until 10 days, prior to their stay, to customize, otherwise, those who customize from 9 to 5 days prior to their arrival will pick them up at their Walt Disney World Resort. 

    I love the idea of surprising your niece, with a MagicBand in anticipation of her upcoming Walt Disney World vacation, so consider purchasing one online at disneystore.com. MagicBands, online, are available in 7 different colors and cost $12.95 plus tax. Your niece, then, has the option of two MagicBands to wear and you can even gift her some fun Disney MagicBand accessories such as, MagicSliders and MagicBandits to go along with her magical birthday gift. Your niece's MagicBand gift can be linked to her, via My Disney Experience, and she will be the envy of all because she has two to choose from.
