    We are taking my mother in law to Magic Kingdom as a 80th birthday present. It will be a first for her as well as our 4 year old daughter. How can we make it extra special. Any tips? Thanks

    Mariela,

    Remember that if it is her first trip to the Magic Kingdom, just being there is special. Don't over think finding ways to make it "extra-special". What I recommend to you is this;

    • Pace yourself. You won't do it all. So enjoy taking in the atmosphere, and rest when you need to. That way you will remain refreshed longer into the day and get to experience more.
    • Fun for all. Focus on activities that are fun for everyone in your party. It will be more of a treat for your mother-in-law if she is there for the 4-year old's first experiences. So go on rides that everyone can enjoy, rather than worry about trying some of the big name 'mountains' that really are not ideal for your 4-year old.
    • Dine together. A nice sit-down meal for dinner will give you all a chance to recapture what you have seen and done that day. If you can do it in the park, or at an adjacent resort, you will find it both convenient and magical.
    • Wear buttons. Get celebration buttons showing cast members that you are on your first vacation to the Magic Kingdom. Get these at guest relations as you enter. The positive comments from cast members and guests alike make the day even more special.
    • Be a princess. If you really want to 'plus' the vacation, schedule a dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table inside the castle. Get your 4-year old in her favorite princess dress and enjoy as a family the wonder and magic that she experiences.

    Have a magical vacation!
