I am taking my mom to Disney for a weekend Christmas trip, and she really wants to see the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. What is the best way to get to the hotel to see it? How late is it available to see - say 9pm after a day in park?

    Hi Karen,

Visiting the Grand Floridian gingerbread house is a must do for me during every Disney holiday.

If you're at the Magic Kingdom, you can take either the monorail or the boat shuttle to the Grand Floridian. Both work equally well and take approximately the same amount of time, it really just depends on what you're in the mood for.

The giant gingerbread house is in the main hotel lobby. It's HUGE so you can't miss it. Also, because it's so huge, it's there all the time. You can see it in the lobby 24 hours a day throughout the holiday season.

There is a small shop inside the house that will have limited hours, usually until about 6:00 p.m. They will be selling some cookies and gingerbread slabs like they have on the house. I have to admit that the gingerbread slabs are fun, but not the most delicious version of gingerbread that I've ever had. So if you want to visit the shop, you should plan to do this during regular business hours, but if you just want to see the house, you can do that any time.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
