    I am taking my 18 mo son to WDW for 1st time in May! I was wondering about shows like Nemo in Ak and Voyage of Mermaid in HS. I believe he will love them, but if he has a meltdown, can I take him outside, or do I have to wait unti its over? Luv you guys

    One of my daughters did have a major meltdown in the Voyage of the Little Mermaid show when she was not quite two. (Ursula is BIG.) During the same vacation her twin sister completely lost it in the MuppetVision 3D show. With toddlers you can never tell what's going to set them off.

    In both of these circumstances we took the crying child out of the theater immediately. That's really the best thing to do for the comfort of your own child as well as the other guests. If you think you might need to make a quick departure from a theater, try to sit near an exit, try to leave quietly, and look for a cast member to help you if you need assistance.

    There are a few shows where early exits are discouraged, the two that come immediately to mind are Sounds Dangerous and Fantasmic, both in Disney's Hollywood Studios. There are announcements made at the beginning of these shows that guests should remain seated because of lighting conditions. This is for your own safety. Both these show have portions that are almost completely dark. In general though, if a show is not working for your family and you can leave without disturbing others, then you should feel free to leave.
