How exciting your children will be visiting Walt Disney World for the first time in October, Michelle! As a mom of four children ranging in age from 8 to 15, I can tell you from firsthand experience that the convenience, unparalleled service, complimentary transportation, Extra Magic Hours, complimentary package delivery, Disney DIning Plan, and charging privileges make staying on property my number one tip for guests planning first time trips. With nine days, I would plan to visit all four theme parks. Follow this link to view the
park hours calendar for your dates of travel in order to start planning your itinerary. I like to first create an itinerary and then plan our meals accordingly in order to
maximize our time in each park and to minimize any unnecessary travel.I also recommend booking your Advanced Dining Reservations for table-service meals as soon as possible by calling (407) WDW-DINE or by going online. My family's favorite table-service restaurants include both 'Ohana and Kona Café at Disney's Polynesian Resort, Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot, Le Cellier Steakhouse in the Canada Pavilion at Epcot, Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom Park, 50's Prime Time Cafe at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and T-REX Café located in Downtown Disney. I would also recommend booking a Character Dining Experience in which you will be greeted table side by several Disney characters while enjoying a delicious meal. My favorites are Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort featuring the "Fab 5" and 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast at Disney's Polynesian Resort featuring Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. When planning your itinerary, consider scheduling a resort day (non-park day) in the middle of your vacation. I am out of room for my answer, but please don't hesitate to write me back with additional questions.I would love to assist you in planning a
magical first trip!
