Welcome BACK to
planDisney, Kim! It is so lovely to see you here asking another vacation question. Choosing between
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is quite the dilemma as they are both extraordinary Deluxe Disney Resort hotels. Let me provide you with some information on each resort. Hopefully, it will help you decide which resort is the right choice for you and your family.
Both resorts are in a fabulous location, placing you right in the heart of the magic, with stunning views of
Magic Kingdom Park and access to the monorail, bus, and water taxi transportation. There are incredible dining options at both resorts, plenty of recreation activities, and luxurious swimming pools, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the Florida sunshine.
I love the theming of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, placing you in a tropical paradise, with a towering volcano, 142-foot waterslide, and waterfall, making the feature pool, Lava Pool, truly unique. Some of my favorite
dining options can be found in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort with
Pineapple Lania serving the much sought-after Dole Whip! Please note that the Great Ceremonial House in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is currently undergoing refurbishment and is scheduled to reopen summer of 2021. There are sure to be some exciting updates and changes as a result!
The theming of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is nothing short of refined elegance, with Victorian style, sophistication, and beauty. Beach Pool offers views of the Seven Seas Lagoon while you slide down a 181-foot waterslide into the 111,261-gallon pool, complete with cascading waterfalls and a zero-depth entry. If you are looking for fine dining, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa offers
Narcoossee’s with a spectacular menu filled with gorgeous coastal cuisine. There are a few other
fine dining and signature restaurants at this resort that are currently unavailable but will likely have reopened before your visit in March 2022.
If you find that you cannot choose a resort, you could always consider a split-stay, with Disney making it easy to switch from one Disney Resort hotel to another. All you would have to do is pack up and bring your luggage down to Bell Services when you check out of the first resort and then go about your day, enjoying the theme parks, Disney Springs, or lounging around the resort. Bell Services will take care of delivering your luggage to your next resort so that it is waiting for you when you check-in.
I hope that this information helps you to make your decision, Kim. Fortunately, you cannot go wrong with either of these magnificent resorts. You and your family are sure to have a magical vacation in
Walt Disney World making memories that will last a lifetime. Please remember that you’ve got a friend in us here at planDisney, so stop back by any time we can help answer your vacation questions.
