We are taking our 3 grandchildren to Disney World May 30th-June 8th, staying in a cabin in Fort Wilderness, should we book the dinner shows before we go? Which shows are recommended? Children's ages are 13, 10 and 8, is there a grocery store?

I was able to take a tour of the Fort Wilderness cabins earlier this week. They are so homey and fun. I'm sure you'll have a great time there.

If you would like to see a dinner show, then you most definitely should reserve that in advance by calling Disney Dining at 407-WDW-DINE. If you waited until you arrived at WDW to book the show, it would be very likely that you would not find any reservations available.

Since you are staying at Fort Wilderness, my top recommendation for a show would be the Hoop de Doo Revue which plays several shows a night at Pioneer Hall in Fort Wilderness. I have seen this show several times and it never fails to give me a laugh. The food there is all-you-care-to-eat American picnic food, served family style: fried chicken, ribs, potatoes, beans, salad, and cornbread, with strawberry shortcake for dessert. Many beverages, including soft drinks, beer, wine and yummy sangria, are included in the price of the meal. Let your server know if there are any food issues in your group. I was dining at the Hoop with a non-meat-eater friend and they were able to bring her a lovely piece of salmon instead of the chicken and ribs.

There is a small selection of groceries available at the "Trading Post" at Fort Wilderness. The prices are a bit higher than you might find at your supermarket at home and the selection is limited, but you will be able to find the basics like bread, milk, eggs, cheese, etc.

Hope you and your family have a great trip!
