    I am taking my girls (4 & 8) on there first Disney vacation the week of 4th of July. I book Chef Mickeys and Cinderella's Table for character dining experience. can you suggest any other things I should make reservations for?

    Lorrie,

    While nothing would please me more than to fill up my dining on a Walt Disney World vacation with character meals, dinner shows, unique snacks, and other amazing delectable treats, I have found that you can overdo it. I have girls about the same age as yours, and we are now of a mind that we do 1 table service meal per day. That way we don't spend time at a table when we could be on a ride or watching a show. And that seems about right for their food needs. We round out with a counter service lunch and a breakfast from our room (cereal bar, milk, etc.).

    That being said, there are several places that I find fun that might be good for your other days for that 1 table service dinner per day. Some personal favorites that might be good for you include;

    With Characters
    Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House (breakfast especially)

    Without Characters, but with some Entertainment
    Whispering Canyon Cafe
    'Ohana
    Hoop Dee Doo Review
    50s Prime Time Cafe

    Without Entertainment, but great fun
    Be Our Guest
    Via Napoli
    Hacienda de San Angel
    Sanaa

    Some won't be available. That is why I give you several options. The key here is that I find these to be both fun, and have good food. Don't overdo the Character meals.

    So why not write me back with an idea of what you like to eat, and where you will be (park/day) and I can refine some of these down. Also, if you ask, I can also offer counter service recommendations by day. There are some great ones out there that are more than a burger, fries, and no view. So don't overlook that.

    Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
